O Sole Mio





태양처럼 밝고 상쾌하고 힘찬 노래 'O Sole Mio'(My Sun)는 세계적으로 널리 불리는 대표적인 나폴리가곡이다. 108년전인 1898년 이태리 작곡가 Eduardo di Capua(1865~1917)가 지어 엔리코 카루소를 비롯한 수많은 테너가 불렀고, 엘비스 프레슬리 등 팝싱어들도 즐겨 노래했다. 베니스 곤돌리어들의 18번 애창곡일 정도로 이태리인의 사랑을 받는 이 가곡은 1920년 벨기에 올림픽에서는 이태리 국가 대신에 불려졌다고 한다. 영어 번안곡이 1949년에 나왔지만 이태리 원어로 불러야 제 맛이 나는 영원한 나폴레타나 (Canzone Napoletana)다.
