triplex or fourplex. Condo(minium) Walk out basement = one of basement wall is expxosed above
ground level, so it is like a ground floor. Walkout basement has good view.
Picking up the tab = I am paying it = Lunch is on me.
I'll buy for the round. Help yourself, second and third is free.
Refill is free(at pop/coffee shop).
Cunnig = sneaky. Cheated on exam. I never heard cunning on exam over here.
Television is TV, never said Televi or Tele like in Korea. Cable hook up means
cable TV or Internet.
Mad money is usually loose money or free money which is not ear marked for anything particular.
Often you'll see an invitation with BYOB = bring your own bottle(booze).
Buffet is seldom used here. I hear it as Boopei over there.
Ever heard Pot luck supper? Everyone going to a party bring one item of food.
If it is big gathering like community block party, we discuss each other and decide
what to bring to avoid duplicates(doubles). Some brings salad, some appetizer, some main food,
some dessert.
How about practising the word desert? One is sea of sand, one is abandoned, one is
light food after main course food. Can you make it right 3 different ways?
On the dance floor, I have two left feet = I am not good at dancing.
