Hi, Mr. Kim
I see. Small world again. My dad was interpreter for G-2, 2nd Div.
USMC during the war(Chinese, Korean, English). Spent much time
interrogating Red Chinese POWs. After war, he worked at USOM.
That was the first job I had(best paying job then) after school until
I left Korea. One thing still makes me laugh is, when I was at Doota
market place near Tong-Tae-Mun, I saw a sign on the store front,
`Junko`. I told the owner, Junk = Garbage. When I went to Kyong-Chu, there was famous Hwang-Nam Bang. I told the owner
of the bakery, Bread = Bang. What they're making was like
Cookie to me. Cookie is not like a slice of bread(Bang).
Spending all working years in engineering/technical area, my English
skill is not as good as I would like.
Today it is cold wuth some flurries. -20C and dipping down lower
in the night. As usual wild bunny is taking a shelter from cold and snow under our porch. There is some heat coming tthrough our
basement concrete wall. He dug up a den right next to the wall to
keep himself warm. I gave a carrot stick when I was out to sweep the side walk and drive way. Feeding the bunny and birds is routine
chore in winter time. Also we have squirrel(active year round) running around in our yard stealing bird seed.
Perfect week end to snuggle up in front of fire place drinking hot
tea(Koong-Chung-Cha).
Have a great week end.
Tony
